I use openvpn too, and I leave the challenge passwords blank when generating certificates. I am not sure what will happen if you set the challenge password. I guess it will ask for the password every time you try to connect to the vpn. borgb002. Author. Commented: 2009-01-02. Yepp. I'm using OpenVPN for testing and seems that the documentation OpenVPN 2.3.11 and GUI not working with Duo #55 - GitHub challenge the first phase sends the username/password as usual and openvpn responds with the dynamic challenge to which the client has to respond with the second "password" -- the GUI does not understand this yet. Instead it will show authentication failed and repeat the prompt for primary username/password. Selva
